Lame Rosse and Fiastra lake

Lame Rosse is one of the most popular itineraries of the Sibillini mountains, along the wonderful Fiastra lake. This itinerary starts from the dam of the lake; After 1 hour walking, you will meet a little valley where the lame rosse rocks stand. Lame rosse are made of grit and clay and their particular shape is due to the erosion weathering. Have a look at the gallery of this magical itinerary.

Meteora (Μετέωρα) – Suspended in the air

Meteora is one of the largest and most important complexes of  Orthodox monasteries, and one of the most surreal, beautiful and breathtaking natural landscape in Greece, and I think, in the world.

The Metéora is in the Plain of Thessaly in central Greece. The nearest town is Kalambaka, and is included on the UNESCO World Heritageat.

From the 11th century onwards, twenty-four monasteries were built, despite incredible difficulties, at the time of the great revival of the eremetic ideal in the 15th century. They were created to serve monks and nuns following the teachings of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Today six of these monasteries are still intact and active, and two of these are inhabited by nuns.

This is the first part of a large photo gallery of Meteora. In the next days I publish other six galleries with more shots of Meteora and of his monasteries.

A trip in Corsica (Part #1)

This is first part of photos taken in a summer trip all around the Corsica Island.

Corsica is a large island in the Mediterranean sea referred as a “région” of France. It’s a nice place to stay e to visit.

In just a few hours, you can see the most glittering jewels of the island: the seascapes, with a veritable explosion of colours and fantastic scenery, the wonderful beaches with emerald waters, and the villages of Corsica, that are dotted with Genoese towers, prehistoric ruins and fortified bastions. Corsica history is engraved in the very stones of this unique island.
